अवकाशों से पूर्व सार्वजनिक अवकाश पड़ने पर व्यवस्थाः नियम 61 के अनुसार जब एक कर्मचारी का अवकाश काल प्रारम्भ होने से पूर्व अथवा अवकाशों की समाप्ति पर एक या एक से अधिक सार्वजनिक अवकाश पड़ते हों तो वह कर्मचारी सार्वजनिक अवकाशों के प्रारम्भ होने से पूर्व के दिन (मध्याह्न पश्चात्) अपना कार्यालय छोड़ सकता है तथा बाद में पड़ने वाले सार्वजनिक अवकाशों के बाद लौट सकता है, किन्तु

निम्नांकित शर्तों की पालना होनी चाहिये :

(क) उस द्वारा कार्यभार संभालने में इम्प्रेस्ट राशि एवं अन्य प्रतिभूतियाँ तथा अन्य धनराशि की जिम्मेदारी संभालना सम्मिलित नहीं हो;

(ख) उसके शीघ्र प्रस्थान करने से किसी कर्मचारी को अन्य स्थान से उसके एवज में कार्य-संपादन के लिये नहीं बुलाना पड़ता हो; तथा

(ग) अवकाशों के अंत में सार्वजनिक अवकाशों के उपभोग के कारण उसकी अनुपस्थिति में कार्य सम्पादन के लिये नियुक्त व्यक्ति को वापिस अपने स्थान पर आने से रोकना पड़ता हो।

नियम 62 के अनुसार यदि अवकाश पर प्रस्थान करने वाले अधिकारी/कर्मचारी उसके प्रभार में रहने वाली धनराशि के लिये स्वयं ही जिम्मेदार बना रहे तो सक्षम प्राधिकारी यह घोषित कर सकते है कि  ऐसे मामलों में उक्त शर्ते लागू नहीं होगी।

Rajasthan Service Rule 61 -- Combination of holiday with leave  – When the day immediately preceding the day on which a Government servants leave begins or immediately following the day on which his leave expires is a holiday or one of a series of holidays, the Government servants may leave his station at the close of the day before, or return to it on the day following such holiday or series of holiday; provided that –

(a) his transfer or assumption of charge does not involve the handing or taking over securities or of moneys other than a permanent advance ;

(b) his early departure does not entitle a corresponding early transfer from another station of Government servants to perform his duties; and

(c) the delay in his return does not involve a corresponding delay in the transfer to another station of the Government servant who was performing his duties during his absence or in the discharge from Government service of a person temporarily appointed to it;

Rajasthan Service Rule 61 -- Power to exempt – On condition that the departing Government servant remains responsible for the moneys in his charge, a competent authority may declare that proviso (a) under Rule 61 is not applicable to any particular case.
